UpRising - DevLog #1

Hello everyone! After a brief break, Exit Studio is back to work, and this year we will present you our first 3D project.

As you may have noticed, our next game is called UpRissing, and it talks about a young girl who escapes from home to chase a crowd trying to find out what is happening.

As you may have noticed, our next game is called UpRissing, and it talks about a young girl who, after noticing a strange movement on the streets of her city, runs away from home to try to find out more. When she leaves home, she decides to follow a crowd, and notices that one of the men drops several pages from his folder, now the character aims to collect all the material that this strange man drops and find out what these people are up to.

The narrative of our game will have a great inspiration in the events of Marinha Grande on January 18, 1934, a date known by the locals as "Dia do Vidreiro" (Glassmaker's Day) since it was on this date that the glassmakers of Marinha Grande revolutionized for the first time in search of a better life.

Going a little deeper into the artistic part, we want the final appearance of our game to look like an old photo (colorized), and the color palettes will be closer to browns like in the steampunk style. Bellow we leave an example of and old colorized photo:

We already have some moodboards for inspiration in the follow areas:

  • Aesthetic of the level

As seen in the moodboards, the technical part of the art (modeling, texturing, etc...) will be done in a stylized style, we intend to achieve the result of old photography with post-processing effects.

And that's all for today, If you have any questions or want to give some advice (we are students after all ;)), you can contact us on our social media.

We'll be back next week, with love;
